CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that unavoidable circumstances arise, and appointments have to be canceled or rescheduled. Cancellation and/or rescheduling can be made 24 hours prior to your appointment without a $175 cancellation/rebooking fee. You can do this by emailing, calling, or texting our office at 205.627.2891 or 470.336.2262 during and after business hours. Our email address is office@allypropertyinspections.com. In the event the client has already paid for the inspection prior to cancellation and requests a refund, a fee of $25 or 4% (depending on which is a higher value) will be deducted from the refund to pay for the cost of the credit card processing and refund fee.

UTILITIES (BUYERS ONLY)

It is your responsibility to have all utilities on at the time of the inspection. There will be a $175 charge for us to return to the home if the utilities are not on at the original appointment time and date. We suggest you check with your agent to verify the utilities are turned on so the inspection can be completed as scheduled.

ACCESS TO ATTIC, CRAWLSPACE, ADDITIONAL STRUCTURES, ETC.

It is your responsibility to verify that we will have access to all areas of the property that you would like inspected. There will be a $175 charge for us to return if access is not available at the day and time of the scheduled inspection. We suggest you check with your agent to verify access to these areas.

ATTENDING THE INSPECTION (BUYERS ONLY)

You are welcome to attend as much of the inspection as you would like. We request that you arrive no later than one hour after the start of the inspection for condos and 1 hour for single family properties. However, you are not required to attend.

FOLLOWING THE INSPECTOR DURING THE INSPECTION

We encourage you to take time to look around the home while the inspector is working- measure for furniture, window treatments, etc. The inspector will speak with you at the beginning of the inspection, or when you arrive, to address any special concerns you may have. They will also go over their findings with you at the end of the inspection.

We do not encourage following the inspector while they are working for a couple of reasons: safety for you and ensuring that the inspector doesn’t miss something during the inspection due to interruptions. Home inspections have dangerous elements to them like being on the roof, in a crawlspace or inspecting the electrical panel. These are important reasons we ask our clients not to follow behind the inspector. Lastly, the inspector has an order and process to inspecting a home and interruptions increase the likelihood that they will miss a step during the inspection.

BRINGING GUESTS, CONTRACTORS AND YOUNG CHILDREN (BUYERS ONLY)

We are guests in the Seller’s home and it’s Ally’s responsibility to ensure the Seller’s property is safe and cared for during the inspection. For this reason we ask that you contact the Seller prior to the inspection for permission to bring additional guests, extended family, contractors or children under the age of 13 to the inspection.
